OpenChrono core design is based on a modular architecture which allows community participation.
To service this market globally, a modular authentication and storage model powered by independant industry experts is required. Experts participate in our highly incentivised ' split fee' model, and in return for providing specific expertise and knowledge, they are rewarded with a percentage based, recurring rewards structure.
Community members are able to submit 'network proposals' which will be reviewed by the OpenChrono core team and distributed to the community for feedback. The luxury watch industry is full of brand diversity, design choices, varying levels of craftsmanship, limited editions, exclusivity, customisation and heritage. Community members benefit from 'industry leading' authentication standards and secure storage. Gone are the days of 'one size fits all' closed loop authentication models.
OpenChrono is set to change the game in terms of buyer certainty and customer value
Modular Architecture
The luxury watch industry is full of brand diversity, design choices, varying levels of craftsmanship, limited editions, exclusivity, customisation and heritage. To service this complex market globally, a modular authentication and storage model is required.
OpenChrono core design is based on a modular architecture which allows for stakeholder participation and co-creation.
Community members are able to submit 'network proposals' which will be reviewed by the OpenChrono core team and distributed to the community for feedback. Furthermore, members benefit from industry leading authentication standards and secure storage. Gone are the days of ' one size fits all' closed loop authentication models.
Industry experts can participate in our highly incentivised 'split fee' model, and in return for providing specific expertise they are rewarded with a percentage based, recurring rewards structure.
OpenChrono is set to change the game in terms of customer value and buyer certainty.
Transparency
Allowing community members to review details of every transaction recorded on-chain increases the level of transparency around previous ownership and pricing of collectibles. Having reliable provenance is something collectors value, and with the blockchain they can easily access all past owners and activity around a particular collectible.
Instant liquidity
There is inherent friction and risks involved with selling watches. The process of listing, packaging, and shipping is time-consuming and susceptible to many risks, from shipping delays to outright scams. Once digitised and vaulted, watches can be bought and sold instantly worldwide without needing to be moved around each time, unlocking new levels of liquidity for the collectibles market.
Expanded buyer network
Accessing global liquidity via a borderless protocol allows sellers to reach more buyers across both credit card, wire and digital asset payments, all in one place.
Lower fees
OpenChrono's split fee and 'recurring' business model allows us to keep seller fees lower than traditional eCommerce marketplaces.
Community
Collectors can tap into this powerful new form of ownership to display their collections digitally to the world. This not only increases visibility of available assets on the market but can also help create connections between collectors worldwide.
Network Proposals
Community members can freely submit 'network proposals' via the type form on our website or via the community 'proposals' channel. An example of a network proposal includes:
Working with specialist watchmakers with specific category knowledge as trusted authenticators
Suggest secure vaulting services
Suggest Authentication Process improvements
Suggest new dealers to supply specific watches to the platform
Suggest improved ' lost & stolen' check standards
Platform improvement suggestions
These are only some of the ways that OpenChrono.io is unlocking new value for collectors. We’re keen to listen to feedback from the community and experiment with new ways to empower watch collectors even further.
