# Account Wallets

### What is an OpenChrono wallet?

OpenChrono provides its users with Non-Custodial wallets power by Fireblocks. These wallets are directly managed by the owner / user and not by OpenChrono.

### Why do you need one?

You require a wallet to interact with the OpenChrono platform and to store you digital twin and TimePiece Passports™.

To create an account wallet follow the below steps :

#### Step One - Navigate to OpenChrono 'Profile'

Click ' Start Setup'

#### Step Two - Create Wallet

Click ' Start Setup' - > Name the wallet

#### Step Three - Backup

Before you wallet is created you MUST back up the recovery phrase, this is used in the event of needing to recovery the wallet or switch device.\

ENSURE YOU STORE THIS DOWNLOADABLE DOCUMENT IN A SAFE PLACE.

Click 'I have backed up my recovery kit in a safe place'

#### Step Four - Wallet is now read

You will now see a green icon showing that the wallet is 'ready' to use.

#### Step Five - Store your watches

You can now safely secure the ownership of your watches in the OpenChrono account.
